Below are some links to PP slides and they serve as good examples for how to structure the talks. I hope you find them helpful. They cover a good range of topics.

Not a word I have ever come across, but it piqued my interest. As did the following article. What say you? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-42...

Hi all, This is the Jamie Oliver TED talk that we looked at in class today. I think this provides lots of talking points in terms of c...
They r brill.... can't believe how much obesity costs and shocked that diet juice can be be just as bad.... great topics 👍
ReplyDeleteYes, it’s a worrying time we live in. The subjects are always wide ranging and another wee nugget of advice worth passing on is that remember that none of you have done the research yet, so you don’t know what you’ll find out, whether there’s contradictory information, data to surprise, fox or annoy you. Let the research flow and see how the presentation unfolds. It’s all good!
ReplyDeleteThese topics are really interesting. A lot of eye opening facts about sugar and the release of dopamine from cola and it having the same adverse effects on the brain as cocaine. I enjoyed the physical behaviour one as well, I liked how it showed the progression of the current issuses and explored whats being done to resolve them. Looking forward to getting my teeth into the presentation!
ReplyDelete‘Arguably’ the same! But yes, am interesting standpoint. The physical behaviour one raises a lot of interesting points and is well researched. Good to hear from you and I look forward to hearing what you’ve chosen for a presentation topic.
DeleteI like the way the physical activity talk is structured, I too can't believe how much obesity costs the NHS! insane! very good examples for layout and content! looking forward to getting started now!
ReplyDeleteThe students must have been taught well, ha ha. Nobody has commented on the names I gave the presenters! Just my wee joke. Amused me anyway!
ReplyDeleteSeymour changes was a belter !! 😂
ReplyDeleteStan Free, Lottie Hardwork and Vee No are regulars on my exemplar materials. The one on Smoking was by Nick O'Tein, not forgetting the one on ghosts by Hugo First. I'll stop now...
DeleteThat was his name ;-)
ReplyDeleteSome great presentations. I'm really struggling to decide what to do mine on. I'd considered class structure and the impact of education/opportunity but not sure. I'm sure I'll have some brainwaves over the weekend.
ReplyDeleteHi Laura, that would be a great subject to look into and present on. Not easy but you would be able to find stats on opportunities etc. You could even incorporate the SWAP programme, which isn't strictly what you are looking at, but could provide another angle into the talk potentially somehow? I like the way you are thinking though. And it won't be the easiest choice of subjects either!
